My review of The Sisterhood by Alison Clarke

If you are looking for a paranormal book that addresses positive issues such as humanism, feminism, togetherness, racial tolerance, education, knowledge, friendship and love, trust, hope, and more – then this book is a must-read for readers both young and old. In this multi-mythical tale, it doesn’t take long for things to start happening: there’re a threat of destruction from evil forces against the forces of virtue, and battles between the forces become inevitable. As to be expected, there are many colourful characters and creatures, with positive and negative attributes, both human and paranormal. It took me some time to get familiar.

I found both the storytelling and the story engaging and entertaining, with interesting themes.

My review of: In All Things by Marta Curti

This book is amazingly beautiful!

It’s heartfelt to the bone! Loneliness. The pursuit of friendship, love, and happiness. Sorrow. The book portrays the life of the protagonist Penny Rose in a beautifully authentic way, and it doesn’t fall short of rendering ampleness in its portrayal of several characters that are interesting, and mostly likeable. The storytelling is smooth, lyrical and symbolic. Apart from a moment of misapprehension on my part at the onset of the story (made so perhaps by the rapidly shifting of point of views), the author renders the storyline skillfully, with an abundance of human frailties though strengths as well. The book touches upon every emotion! Heartfelt. A must read for the reader who doesn’t shy away from the harshness of the human condition; for, in the words of the character Penny Rose, “…in all things there is beauty…”
